The Best Way To Insure That You Get Leads From The Lead Generator

The Lead Generator is a simple but powerful system for generating lots of high quality sales leads. In fact, the system is actually patented (US patent number 5,623,660.)

In spite of this, though, the key to your success in using the system boils down to two things.

First , you have to "play by the rules," which means posting all of the data that the system requests, and keeping it up-to-date. This means that you have to put in:

Also, while it isn't a requirement, you might also want to post a couple of advertisements for your company, since they make it easier for other people to find you. But you do have to read your mail every once in a while (weekly is a good minimum,) so people can network with you. (Of course, if you can't network with people -- even online -- what are you doing in sales?)*

The second thing is to remember that, while there is a lot of good information on The Lead Generator, you still have to reach out to people in order to make something happen. We may soon get to the point where we can afford to run the queries for you, but until we do, YOU HAVE TO DO SEARCHES IN ORDER TO FIND THE LEADS.

The User's Guide has a lot of suggestions about how to generate leads, so I recommend that you read it, and try some of the techniques. But keep in mind, if you don't pro-actively search the data base and make contact, you're missing most of the opportunities on the system.

By the way, reaching out on The Lead Generator means doing all the traditional things that you're supposed to do when you're prospecting, such as making contacts, asking good questions, making inferences that someone might need your product or service, identifying decision makers, and -- most importantly -- qualifying the prospect. The difference with The Lead Generator is that you have a lot more information about the prospect (and his needs,) than you ordinarily do, and better access to him, too. But you still have to reach out to people to make something happen.

* Here's something to consider if the need to "play by the rules" seems like a waste of time to you. When someone expresses a concern that they haven't been getting many leads, we look at their data. What we almost always find is that they haven't posted their company's Needs, often they haven't even posted their Products and Services, and they haven't done any searches either.

If you think that this is going to work without you doing your share, just think about how other people will view you if you tell them that your company doesn't buy anything: "Nice business. They make products out of thin air, they have no payroll, no office, and they get free internet service, too. I wish I was in that business." All kidding aside, though, most other users will think that you're being dishonest, or that you're trying to get something for nothing if you don't post your data, and they simply won't want to do business with you.)
